AHA BLS Certification Courses

All BLS course options teach the same AHA science-based skills and result in the same AHA BLS Course Completion Card.

Is AHA BLS the right course for you?

BLS is geared towards prehospital providers, such as EMTs, paramedics, firefighters, and in-facility hospital providers. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a course completion card, valid for two years.

What does this course teach?

Basic Life Support (BLS) courses teach individuals the skills and knowledge needed to provide life-saving care in emergency situations. The curriculum of a BLS course typically includes the following topics:

  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) - techniques for performing chest compressions and rescue breaths to maintain circulation and breathing in an unresponsive person.

  • Use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) - how to use this device to deliver an electric shock to the heart in order to restore a normal heartbeat.

  • Airway management - techniques for maintaining a clear airway and ensuring proper breathing.

  • Recognition of cardiac arrest and other life-threatening emergencies - how to identify when CPR and other life-saving measures are needed.

  • Team dynamics and communication - how to work effectively as a team in a resuscitation scenario, including clear and concise communication with other rescuers and emergency medical services.

Is AHA ACLS the right course for you?

What does this course teach?

The Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) course teaches healthcare providers the knowledge and skills necessary to manage severe cardiac emergencies, such as cardiac arrest, stroke, and other life-threatening conditions.

 

The course covers topics such as advanced airway management, pharmacology, resuscitation, rhythm recognition, and teamwork. Participants in the course learn to effectively use a variety of equipment, including defibrillators, bag-mask devices, and other emergency equipment. The goal of the course is to help healthcare providers effectively manage and treat severe cardiac emergencies, and improve patient outcomes.

Is AHA PALS the right course for you?

If you are a healthcare provider who works with children and needs to be knowledgeable and trained in treating severe pediatric emergencies, then Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is the right course for you. The course is designed for physicians, nurses, paramedics, and other medical professionals who need to have advanced knowledge of resuscitation techniques for children.

What does this course teach?

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is a course designed to teach healthcare providers the knowledge and skills necessary to manage severe pediatric emergencies. The course covers topics such as advanced airway management, pharmacology, resuscitation, rhythm recognition, and teamwork specific to the pediatric population.

 

Participants in the course learn to effectively use a variety of equipment, including defibrillators, bag-mask devices, and other emergency equipment, in treating children. The course also covers specific resuscitation scenarios that are more common in the pediatric population, such as respiratory distress and shock. The goal of the PALS course is to help healthcare providers effectively manage and treat severe pediatric emergencies, and improve patient outcomes in the pediatric population.
